hidden feature on iphone

yeah
hey there sake here from sake tech intoday's video I want to share over 25plus tips tricks and hidden features forthe iphone s ii these fantastic tips
will surely enhance your use of your newiphone SE e and we'll even benefit otheriphone owners so grab your iphone andfollow along as I share some incredible
tactics for your iphone let's dive inso if you launch Safari and you type inan address into the address bar and youclick go
just about a hundred percent of the timeit takes you to the mobile version ofthat website now there is a way torequest the actual desktop website
all you do is press and hold the refreshbutton on Safari and then it's going tobring up a secret menu that says requestdesktop site
tap on that is going to take you to thefull version of that website that youwould see on a desktop pc or laptopnext up let me show you quickly how to
clear the ram on your phonepress and hold the power button untilslide to power of appears and then pressand hold home button and that's going to
clear the ramp just press and hold ituntil you go to the home screen and themoment the home screen appears thatactually clears the ram in the
backgroundlet's move on alright so next step hasto do with your video cameraas you know the iphone comes with an
advanced video camera that can record inper second or 4k video i just want toshow you quickly how you can toggle
between these options now first andforemost less launch the camera and Ijust want you guys to know when youfirst launch the camera and you go to
the video mode by default it isrecording at 1080p in 30 frames persecondthat's just a default option you simply
have to glance at the black area in thebottom right to confirm thisif there is nothing going on over therethat means you're recording at 1080p at
let me show you how to modify thoseoptions go into the settings scroll downwhere it says photos and camera and then
scroll downagain and go to record video and here'swhere you tweak all the options as youcan see you have four options 720p at 30
frames per seconda check mark next to it that means it isthe default and then you can switch to
tapping on that option and quickly payattention to the block of text at thebottom over here it shows you that the
higher the resolution and the higher theframes per secondthe more space your video takes and alsoin the case of 1080p at 60 frames per
secondyour video is going to take more space
but it's also going to be much moresmooth so just keep those things in mind
let's get out of here and lost a camerai'm gonna show you something real niceso if you go back into camera if youlook at that bottom block
now it says 60 frames per second so youcan tell at a glance at what frames persecond your video is being recorded atand also at what resolution less the
same thing with the 4k let's go back inthe settings pic 4k at 30 frames persecond go back in the camera and at thevideo now it says 4k
so you can always tell at whatresolution you are in fact recording nowcan do the same thing with slow motionrecording so let's go back into settings
go back into photos and camera and writethe bottom it says record slow motionyou do have two options you can do 1080pand hundred twenty frames per second or
going to give you super slow motion andif you go back into the camera and ifyou scroll over to slow mo at the bottom
block you're not going to see anythingif you don't see anything that meansit's being recorded at 240 frames persecond
if you pick this option and go back tothe camera at the bottom you're going tosee a hundred twenty frames per secondat 1080p and that is how you distinguish
and switch between available optionslet's move on so the next step has to dowith locking individual notesso if you launch your notes application
you can actually individually lockspecific notes that you thinkare sensitive information so let's saythis note to me was very private and i
wanted to lock it so nobody else can seeit unless they know the password orunless they have a fingerprintregistered to unlock the note so let me
show you how to get that done so on thehome screen click on settings scrolldown to where it says notes and then tapon the password field and here you're
going to have two optionsnumber one you're gonna have to set up atraditional password such as numbers orletters and number two you're going to
enable use touch ID and that's going toallow you to view locked notes just byusing your fingertipsso let's go back in the notes
application will show you how to lockthe notetap on notes tap on that icon on the topright and from here choose lock note and
once you tap on lock note is going toask you to put in your password which isthe password you picked under the notessettings so put the password and click
OK and then it's going to allow you tolock or unlock this note read that noteit says tap the lock icon in the toolbaror lock your device to hide the contents
so let's tap the lock icon in thetoolbar and there we go the note is nowlockedlet me go back out and go back and just
to show you how it works so let's say
somebody taps on this note and goesinside is going to see the note islocked and you can tap on view note and
then it's going to ask you for yourfingerprint you put that in it unlocksthe noteabsolutely fantastic you can do this on
any note that you pleasealright so the next step has to do witha secret menu that you can actuallyenable that is going to float about on
your screenit's called the assistive touch so let'sgo into the settings to enable thisso go to general and go to accessibility
and then scroll down where it saysassistive touch right over there andsimply enable the option and the momentyou enable it you'll see a little menu
that just popped up let's go back tohome screen you can take this thing andyou can put it anywhere that you pleaseit can float and set any place on the
screen that you wantso let's see what you can do with thisthingfirst and foremost this can be used as
the software version of the home buttonso let's tap on it tap home and as youcan see it performs the same functionbut if you look at it there's more
optionssitting inside assistive touch as youcan see i just invoked series so that'sone option using the assistive touch you
can even bring the notifications paneldown without even having to actuallypull it down from the top so just tap onit and the notifications panel drops
down
you can do the same thing with thecontrol center so let's go back hometap on assistive touch and tap on
control center and as you can see cameright upfantastic you can also customizeassistive touch in the settings menu
so let's go into the settings menureally quick i'm gonna show you how tocustomize the assistive touch to meetyour needs
so go to settings and simply tap oncustomized top level menu and from hereif you want to change the function ofany icon here
you simply tap on the icon and choosethe new function and as you can see youin fact have several optionsnow there's an option your iphone where
if you type something in or if you doanythingand after that you shake your phone itbrings up a prompt that asks you to undo
what you just didso just type something I shake my phoneand the prompt came right up it says doyou want to undo the typing now for some
people this may not be desirable so youcan actually disable this function whereif you shake your phone the prompt doesnot show up so let's cancel this really
quickgo out go into the settings and then goto general and go into accessibility andlook for shake to undo which is right
there on the topsimply tap it and disable this optionthere we goso let's goPicked up _JAVA_OPTIONS: -Xmx512M back into the notes
application launch it and type somethingin and then shake the iphone and seewhat happensand absolutely nothing happens in one
quick thing i want to show in the cameraif you go into the camera and go to thephoto by default there is no grid youcan actually enable the grid go into the
settings go all the way back to thegeneral menuand look for photos and camera scrolldown a little bit and simply enable the
grid and now you're going to be able toactually see a grid on the camerathat's going to allow you to betteralign your photos so make sure you guys
enable this for better photography nextthing i want to show you guys is if youpull down the notifications panel as youcan see you get a sense of translucency
a sense of transparency throughout thenotifications panel you can see ablurred version of the home screen inthe background
now what you can do is you can actuallychange the color of the notificationspanel to a solid blackyou can do the same thing for the
control centers if I pull the controlcenter you still have that sense oftranslucency transparency going on soquickly go into the settings tap on
general go to accessibility and scrolldown to where it says increase contrastand from here choose reduce transparencyjust tap on that I can to enable it
let's go back out and see what the panellooks like nowso pulled on the panel and as you cansee it is solid black the transparency
has disappearednow if i go back to the control centeris going to be solid gray and thetransparency is has in fact on and as
you can see even the bar at the bottomis now a solid gray color if I was to goback into settings and disable thatoption and go back out
as you can see the bar is nowtransparent so it really is up to youwhich type you desirealright so the next tip has to do with
enabling restrictions on your iPhone soother people when they grab your iphonecannot do certain thingsyou have full control first and foremost
let's go into the settings and scrolldown to general and then scroll down torestrictionsok now when you first tap on
restrictionsit's going to ask you to pick a passwordso let's tap on it and then click enablerestrictions and boom it wants you to
set a passcodeso let's tap a simple pass code is goingto ask you to do it one more time andthere we go
there is a lot you can restrict underthis menu and these are amazing featuresbut let's start off with the basicsright off the bat you can see that you
can disable safari the camera seriesfacetime airdropand carplay let me quickly go back tothe home screen and take a look at the
home screen you can see so far you cansee the cameralet's disable these and see what itlooks like so let's go back and
restrictions can actually put yourpassword pop it in and then let'sdisable safari disabled camera go backout and as you can see those icons have
now disappeared and nobody can ever usethem unless you go back in there putyour password in and remove therestrictions yourself and observe how
you have to put your password in everysingle time you go to restrictions sothere's no way anybody can hack intothis
let's just enable everything again andif you scroll down there's even moreoptionsyou know you can disable itunes store
and all that but take a look at thethree blue options at the bottominstalling apps deleting apps and in-apppurchases all these three things can be
restricted and that is quite useful ifyou're giving your phone to somebodyelse so they cannot install or removeapplications
so normally if i go over here and tapand hold on the screen you can deleteany application you want by tapping theX icon
maybe that's not something you wantother people to do on your phone so whatyou want to do is you want to disablethat option and then when you go back
out and somebody is playing with yourphone if they tap and hold that X symbolsimply is not going to appear so there'sno way to uninstall these applications
without you being present and removingthat restrictionalright so next up let's talk aboutstorage management go into the settings
of your phone go to general and scrolldown to where it says storage and ICloud usagewhat I like over here is that you get a
snapshot of the local storage on youriPhone and you also get the snapshot ofyour iCloud account from here you getsome useful information on the top is a
local storageit says that you have an available spaceof 48.6 gigabytes and you're currentlyusing four point nine gigs
if you look at the bottom on the iCloudside it says your total iCloud storageis five gigs and you're currently usingfour point two gigs of that available
storage now you do have the option totap on manage storage and go into somedetailsso over here as you can see garage band
is taking 1.2 gigabytes of storage spaceand my question would be why because inever ever use GarageBand so simply tapon Garageband and once you're inside you
can actually delete this application andget rid of it so tap on that and confirmthe deletion and now you suddenly have1.2 gigs of extra storage space and you
can do the same thing with any app onthis list let's go back and you can dothe same thing with iCloud you canmanage the storage for your iCloud
account and from here you can inspectthe numbers and as you can see I moviefor example is taking a lot of storagespace on my icloud account which i would
like to be freed upso tap on it and then simply click Editwhich brings up the deletion menu sosimply click that bar the red bar and
then click deleteand that's going to free up some goodamount of space on my icloud accountfantastic and next up let's talk about
battery management so let's go intosettings and let's scroll down tobattery and tap it is going to go rightinto the settings and let me show you
guys how to calculate exactly how longyour battery lasts after a full chargeon your iPhone before that thoughquickly take a look at the low power
mode and battery percentage meter so asyou know the low power mode is going tosave you some battery life is going toshut off some background tasks that you
do not need and the battery percentageif you disable it kills that percentagesymbol on the top status barso as you click it on you can see it
says ninety-four percent of the top butlet's go down over here and over hereyou get a breakdown of which applicationon your iPhone has been using your
battery you can go by the last 24 hoursfor the last four daysso tap on that and there's a secretbutton that you can press right over
therethat gives you some additionalinformation so when you press thatbutton that looks like a clock it
actually tells you how much time thatapplication was on the screen and evenhow much an application was on thebackground so if you get the whats app
it says 21 minutes of the seventeenpercentusage was on screen and 19 minutes wasin the background
same thing with the notes applicationtwo minutes on screen and two minutes onbackground total battery usage was 2percent
this is just a nice and organized way tofind out what the heck is going on withyour battery usage and finally at thebottom it says time since last full
chargei have been using my iphone for 56minutes and has been on the stand by forthree hours and 55 minutes sense the
full chargeso all you have to do is fully chargedyour phone and let the battery drain allthe way down to one or two percent and
then come back and look at these twostatistics the usage and standby timeand that's going to give you exactly howlong your battery stays alive both in
terms of usage and stand bynothing can give you a more exactmeasurement of your battery life on youriPhone
so let's talk about how to hideinformation from prying guys let's turnoff the phone and then turn it back onand as you can see right now the phone
is locked so you have to either put yourfingerprint or put the passcodehowever even when it's locked people canstill access your notifications and your
today's screen that might have someprivate information they can also accessthe control center if they pull from thebottom up
so let me show you guys how to disableaccess to the control center and thenotifications panel from your phonefirst I'm going to show you guys how to
hide control centerso let's go into the settings for thatscroll down his right on the topactually tap on control center and
simply disable access on lock screenlet's go back to the main settings andi'll show you the notifications panelnext
so going to touch ID and passcode put inyour passcode and then scroll down towhere it says allow access one locked sofrom here you can turn off today's panel
notifications viewserie reply with message and wallet youcan disable access to any of these guyswhat I'm going to do is on a disabled
access to today and notificationsview let's go back- the lock screen and now as you can seeI can neither access the notifications
panel the today screen or even thecontrol centerlet me quickly go back in here and showyou one more thing and let's enable
today's view but keep the notificationsview disabled and see what that lookslike so enable that shut off the phonereally quick and go back into the screen
now if you pulled on that Center you canaccess today's screen but you're notgoing to be able to access thenotifications panel that's usually on
the rightso you can affect customized as youplease let me show you a quick tipregarding the fingerprint sensor let's
go into the settings and the scroll downto where it says touch ID and passcodeand if you scroll down a little bitworse as fingerprints
oops let's fix that real quick as youcan see it says left thumb and leftindex so the iPhone itself does not knowwhich fingerprint you're using after
scanning each finger you have to tap onthat fingerprint and rename each one ofthese manuallyjust so you guys can keep track of it so
let's just tap on left thumb right nowand as you can see i can simply edit thename of that fingerI can just keep us left t so make sure
you guys name your fingers properly asyou scan them in so you can actuallykeep track of which finger is whatin case you want to delete or update any
one of these guys let's get some moretips let's go into the settingsI want to show you a batch of tips alltogether going to general going to
access ability and over here the firstthing I want you guys to see the grayscale option if you tap grayscaleeverything on your phone
across-the-board becomes black and whitegray scale modethis could be great if you want lessstress on your eyes especially when
you're reading a book but as you can seeno matter where i go everything is blackand white which is fantasticso let's go back into settings are
disabled the gray scale mode but in ableto invert colors modeso this is going to invert the entirecolor scheme of your phone so no matter
no matter where you go in your phone inthe settings in the home screeneverything is going to be inverted not abad thing to play with if you just want
to have some funfantastic let's go back to settings anddisable this mode General accessibilityturn off and that's a scroll down over
here and let's take a look at the coupleof their optionsso the first one over here is you canchange the size of the text you can bold
in the text but you can also say changethe button shapesso let's enable that and see whathappens to this menu so as you can see
on the top left you get a button shapeif i go back out the button shape isstill thereif i go back in and disable it that
button shape disappears so just a quickway to customize your phonewell thank you for watching this videomake sure you subscribe to sake tech and
give this video thumbs up also follow meon twitter and facebook at sake checkonline for which links are in thedescription below

how to change theme and icons iPhone

hey guys did from the locker . com and today using a jailbreak tweak uh we're going to show you how to add a theme and change the icons on your iphone or ipad running ios you first need to install what's called
winterboard tap on cydia open that app search type in winterboard tap on that

then tap install to have confirm
wait for that to install and have a reboot device and wait for that to
happen ok now that that is installed that is kind of your theme program it's not a theme in itself so you need to download separate themes by going to cydia on you go two sections themes and then it will be probably springboard but
not all of these work for iOS
so it's kind of a bit annoying maybe those section on ios soon otherwise though you can google around the internet to find iOS compatible winterboard themes is what you'll type in on you find a couple of them so one of them is soft remix tap on that and you'll see in here it says requires iOS that's how you know it works for that I'm all the way down here at the bottom you'll see it in themes and spring board is the section so we're going to have to install have confirm and wait for that to download
and install have returned the city when it's done tap home come home again

sitting where you are and go to winterboard tap select themes and then
choose the theme that you want to have back and tap home it will automatically Reese pring which means it'll close
springboard and then open it back up when it does you'll have your new theme to change to another theme simply go back into the city of store
search or sections however you want to find it and type in again the name that row tap on it to have installed tap confirm again wait for that to download
return to cydia app home

go back to winterboard select themes you can tap on your new theme that's in
there you can also combine themes or uncheck the other one and then again hit home
for it to be spring and what does you'll be running that theme

and finally if you just want to move all the themes and go back to normal

just go to the city store up on manage up on packages scroll all the way down to winterboard modify remove confirm wait for that and tap reboot device and wait for that and once it restarts

you'll be completely back to your regular default theme

How to save space on iphone?

I'm sure you do and that's why you click on this video and basically in this video we're going to do is talk about how to optimize a year by phone so you can get away with using one of these low storage iphones apple should really find a way to come out with a gigabyte as the standard model because personally I feel like they're just ripping people off with the gig let me know your comments down below in the comments
section and let's get into that right now guys let's go alright guys happened right in your going to go into settings and you're going to see that my iphone is a gigabyte model just to verify so outofthebox capacity is . gigabytes available . basically this is all i have on their seven songs videos photos in applications and I only have four points gigabytes left and that is pretty ridiculous from my perspective I don't have that much on my iphone as you can see because there's not that much that you can put on a gigabyte iphone but how do i get away with using one and the first tip is going to be that you're going to want to have unlimited cloud storage photo app basically you can go ahead and type in google photos already have this installed on the try to type is behind the camera google photos and you have a gmail account you want to get this and you get basically unlimited storage on a cloud storage photo so that's a great way but you can also get something like Amazon photos as well amazon photos you do need a prime subscription for this but this is also free storage for photos as well cloud storage as you can see it has a star rating just about and also there are many other such as onedrive let's see one drive this is from Microsoft you can also use this cloud storage at all so you have the builtin one from apple but they don't give you that much storage outofthebox for iCloud so you have the builtin iCloud right here so you see only . gigabytes and you have to pay for more so that's why i recommend going ahead and getting google photos so that's the first tip basically is to have a cloud storage app guys for this next tip please go into settings and go down until you see photos and camera so basically going to scroll down and under let's see right where it says music videos photos and cameras are going to go down and so you get to let's see the camera section you want to hit where it says record video and you want to turn this to p basically that's going to save you lots of space you can see megabytes with p and megabyte so that's going to save you on the video yes it's not going to be quite as sharp but is still going to get the job done overall that I save space on my iphone s as gigabyte as i go into the photos and after I take all my photos i delete all of them so i delete them but they're not quite deleted totally so what I do is go to shared master i go two albums and you're going to see all these photos and albums but recently deleted those are the ones that are still not deleted so you're gonna want to go in there and delete all of those and actually save you a ton of space there so basically you want to clean out your photos use the regular camera in the photo stuff at first clean it out send it over to a cloud storage app actually you might want to send it to the cloud storage at first then clean it out but basically that's gonna save you the most amount of space also you're going to want you to basically not have too many games on your air iphone this is one pitfall of a smaller iPhone is the games are going to keep it to a minimum of three to five maybe games just find your favorite games or most valuable games and just put those on your iPhone and call it a day because you're not really going to want to have tons again for your storage will be eating down really quickly but i do recommend if you want to have a lot of games to get casual lower space games such as these two like Jetpack Joyride subway surfers temple run cross the road all those smaller hit titles candy crush

all those kind of things Angry Birds those are off small megabytes you can have a ton of those little casual games but we're talking about the high graphic games such as infinity blade arm real racing those type of games take up a ton of space so for those you want to pick a few here and there alright guys another way that we're going to optimize their stories we're gonna head into settings and we're going to type in the search bar storage so we type in storage right here we're going to go into storage and icloud usage and we're going to go under storage and hit manage storage we're going to see what is taking up most of the space right here and we're gonna try to go into that app and try to clear out as much as we can so you can't clear from right there but if you're going to the app you can delete some of the things out of that you know application itself or also what I do is sometimes I just delete the app and reinstall it because that automatically clears the the cash the application itself that's another thing i do to manage storage on my iphone gigabyte thing that you can do to manage space on your iphone is clear out some of the apple applications so some of them are deletable from outofthebox so if you can try to delete as many apple bloatware when you first get your iphone or when it's freshly installed OS you don't have any apps on it go ahead and delete as many as you can there also try to delete some of the things and I booked some of your old books you don't use as well as delete some of the old videos in your videos and some reminders in here so yes it kind of doesn't you know it's not very practical but if you use cloud storage based apps such as you know Google keep Evernote Apple notes even Apple knows pick up some storage but if you use cloud base you don't take the applications to keep your you know stuff in the cloud basically the college's internet storage you won't use as much space on your iPhone in that way as well from these days so ya don't know Donald music and keep it on your phone if you want to download some music just keep it limited you know keep your songs to a minimum i would say no more than songs because you're going to really start heating up storage as most songs are about three megs per song so yeah that's another way that I see stories just streaming and that's pretty much

how i optimize and survive on a you buy iphone I also you know do regular maintenance like keep cleaning out the photos all the time I mean it's kind of a hassle but you gotta do what you gotta do i delete apps that I find that are not very useful probably once a week to keep it you know just enough storage to do what I want when I want so if you keep it maintained you can get away with using a gigabyte iphone i would say that's the biggest thing about a gigabyte iphone as it requires maintenance whereas a gig you get time and go bananza and just do whatever you want on those models hence why they cost a lot more although they shouldn't cause the hundred more because you can get a samsung galaxy from get a microSD card it only costs about ten dollars and it's get the same about amount of storage should get an iPhone but you know what that's what Apple likes to do that's the effects of the you know the Apple world if you don't like it then don't get an Apple device but that's basically how you get away from my perspective and how i use my iphone that's how I get away with using a gigabyte iphone if you have any tips and suggestions or tricks go ahead leave them down in the comments down below as people like to read those and it will help everybody out on this channel as well a team over here and if you enjoyed this video please go ahead hit that thumbs up down below subscribe for more technology videos and I will catch you all in the next episode guys peas

iPhone 6 review and tips

the iphone 6s has four buttons five if you count this little switch is a switch or a button first of the buttons is the screens on off button located on the right side of the phone near the top it quite simply turns your phone screen on and off on the left are the volume buttons which can be used to change the volume of all your sounds the earbuds that come with your iphone also have volume control buttons on them just press the plus sign to make it louder and the minus sign to make it quieter.
the most important button is the home button it will turn your screen on if it's off if
you're in a nap press the home button to return to your home screen and press it twice rapidly to see all the apps that
are currently running press and hold the home button to open sirree but we'll talk about that later to last is this
switch which turns your ringer on or off simple enough right you would use this in an important meeting or hopefully in a
movie theater the phone has four microphones one here for talking on the phone to on top next to the speaker and one on
the back next to the camera's lens the iphone s is screen is made from I on X glass and it has a d touch sensor beneath
it on the back of the iphone you'll see the camera which is protected by a small piece of scratch resistant sapphire glass
now let's start using the iphone most actions on the iphone are performed not with buttons but by tapping sleeping or otherwise poking the screen itself on your home screens you can see all of the apps that you have on your iPhone the iPhone comes with a number of apps already installed thousands more can be purchased are downloaded for free from
the App Store a nap is a program on your phone designed to perform a specific task or function for example the weather
app shows you the weather forecast in your area and this howcast fitness app that I've added to my phone gives me workout videos each app is represented by its own little square button on your home screen swipe to the left to see more apps to open an app simply tap the icon once and tap the home button to return to your home screen.

now maybe you don't like how your apps are organized on your screen to move your apps around tap one of them and hold your  finger down for a second the icons will all start wiggling like they're nervous about being moved simply drag the icon to its new position or drag it on top of another icon to create a folder quick actions is a cool new feature that's only
available on the iphone s it's a simple drop down menu of shortcuts to useful functions within an app to activate your
quick actions just press a little bit harder on the app icon and your quick actions menu will appear to instantly get
directions to your home from your current location press hard on the maps app and select directions home the phone will
map out driving walking and public transportation options for you in order for your phone to know where you live make sure
your home address and other information is in your phone's contacts now that you know your way around your new iphone 6s
let's customize things a bit in this section i'll show you how to set up your email and connect to a WiFi network you
should have already set up a pass code when you turn on your iPhone s if you haven't done this just follow the onscreen
prompts to set yours up you'll also set up a touch ID this will allow you to use the home button as a fingerprint scanner

because you live in the future to set up your email go to settings once again and tap male tap Add Account choose the email service that you use and enter your email address and password to read your email simply tap the mail app and scroll through some email services like Gmail and Yahoo have their own apps which are also available in the app store when you sign up for a plan with your phone carrier you chose a data plan which allows you to connect to the internet via g you can avoid running out of your a lot of data by connecting to a WiFi network when it home at work or any place with the public WiFi network internet use well connected to WiFi does not count against your data limit to set up a WiFi connection open your settings once again tap the WiFi menu find your network from the choose a network list and then just enter your WiFi password once you have entered the password your iphone will remember it and automatically connect to that Network anytime you're in range the iphone s boasts an improved battery life but it can still run low after a long day of rigorously scrolling your facebook feed with a few tweaks and good habits you can make sure your battery doesn't run out before the end of the day you can turn your WiFi off when not in use lower your screen brightness close unnecessary apps or even go into airplane mode which will keep your phone on but disconnected from all networks to turn WiFi off swipe up from the bottom of the screen to pull up a quick menu then tap the WiFi icon this will stop your phone from wasting energy trying to connect to WiFi networks while you're on the move or in an area with no networks you can adjust your screen brightness in the same quick menu drag the brightness slider left or right to decrease or increase brightness the brighter your screen the more battery life it heats up try turning down your screen brightness when you're indoors or secretly texting during the movie when you leave a nap and go back to your home screen that app keeps running in the background even if you can't see it and that takes up battery to to see all your apps that are currently running tap the home button twice you can swipe left and right to look through all the apps and to close an app swipe it up then there's airplane mode to turn this on just swipe up from the bottom of the screen and tap the plane icon this will turn off your phones cell service data and WiFi extending your battery life without turning off your phone plus you can keep playing candy crush without being interrupted by a fundraising call microphone that hangs right by your mouth on the volume controls so you don't have to shout into your phone the iphone automatically adjust to your speaking volume so if you're quiet talker or a loud talker it should all sound the same to the person on the other end to video chat you can either open the facetime app or go into your contacts if your contact has the facetime app on their phone the facetime camera icon will be visible your iphone will use the front facing camera and microphones so just hold it a foot or two from your face and talk once again ear buds will help with the sound quality especially if you're outdoors you've seen the billboards the iphone s boasts a megapixel camera I'm going to teach you how to take photos take selfies shoot video and even create what Apple calls live photos there are a ton of different shooting modes on the iphone but today since this is a beginners course we're only going to talk about the basics let's open up the camera up to take a photo point the camera at your subject then tap your subject on the screen to focus on them and adjust lighting then just press the big white button to take the photo the flash will turn on you to add a bit of control to your photos colors you can add a filter before or after you've taken a picture some filters make colors brighter others make the photos grayscale or sepia tone to switch to the front facing camera and take a selfie tap this icon in the top right of the screen a little tip the volume button icons can also be used to take a photo which is a lot easier when you're holding your phone with one hand also when taking your selfie keep the camera straight in front of you or a bit above your face to avoid taking a photo of the inside of your nose to record a video drag over to video mode and then tap that same button which will now appear red remember when taking a photo or video hold your camera steady the iphone s also has the option to record video in k which is twice the quality of HD video you might not notice the difference on your phone screen but it will make a big difference if you view it on your computer of course k videos take up much more space on your phone so if you don't have that much space free on your phone you might want to stick to the HD format the iphone s has a new feature called live photos a lot of photo is basically a short three to four second video that captures when you shoot a photo your iphone records about two seconds before and two seconds after the photo if you hard press a live photo you'll see the full
